This famous schooner, named after the captain’s daughter, was launched in 1894 in Gloucester, Maine (a renowned fishing town from which the heroes of the book and film The Perfect Storm set out on their final voyage). The Morrissey was designed to handle the harsh weather conditions of the North Atlantic. On her first voyage, the crew managed to catch around 91 tons of fish, which covered the costs of building the ship.
For well over a century, the Morrissey served as a fishing schooner, research vessel, and commercial ship, and by the end of the 20th century, she was listed as a National Historic Landmark, a role she still maintains today.
In the game, the Morrissey appears in her original configuration, without an engine—her only propulsion comes from her sails.
The models in the set are resin, 3D printed and can be damaged if not handled properly. All models are unpainted. Glue and paints are not included. Contains small parts and is not intended for use by children under 14 years of age.
